Rivermont Dress in Chorizo

Cashmerette Rivermont Dress Red 2

I got this glorious ponte from Tessuti in Australia. I got a sample of this and a delicious chartreuse and eventually decided that this colour was perhaps more practical. In reality, I wish I’d bought both.

Cashmerette Rivermont Dress Red

Cashmerette‘s Rivermont Dress & Peplum pattern is probably a t’n’t pattern at this point, and it’s so comfortable to wear, I’ve been hanging out for winter.

Sizing Details: I sewed a size 20 bodice, grading out to a 22 at the waist and a size 24 at the hip.

Floral Springfield Top

Named Ninni Culottes Natural Linen

Another Springfield Top pattern from Cashmerette.

I loved the fit of the first few Springfield tops that I sewed up, and I had just enough of this floral fabric left after making a Cashmerette Montrose top to almost make a Springfield Top too!

Cashmerette Springfield Floral Back

I say ‘almost’ because I didn’t have enough for the whole back of the bodice to be in floral, and the front of the bodice has to be pieced together from 1 large piece and 3 or 4 additional pieces. I find it hard to see where the piecing happened on the front of the bodice, unless you look quite intently (it was near the shoulders), so I suppose that’s a win!

Sizing Details: I’ve sewed the C/D cup bodice in a Size 20 at the bust, grading out to a size 22 at the hips. I’m wearing the top here with a 47″ bust and 54″ hip.

Montrose Dress in Dreamer Linen

Cashmerette Montrose Dress Linen

This dress is a hacked version of the Montrose Top from Cashmerette

I loved this fabric the moment I saw it online. Linen, large scale print, gorgeous colours- it basically checked/ticked all the boxes I didn’t know that I had.

Since I’m so thrify, I only bought 2 metres, which it turns out was the perfect amount. I managed to cut the Montrose bodice up until the ‘shorten/lengthen’ lines, and I then added on the rest of the fabric, gathering it at the waist.

I made the skirt with only 1 seam, so I didn’t include my normal in-seam pockets. I regret this a lot and tried to add on patch pockets with leftover fabric but it just didn’t look right. I’ve still got the pocket pieces, in case I change my mind.

Size Details: I sewed the C/D cup bodice in a size 20, grading out to size 22 as the waist starts to curve out. I’m also using the Full Bicep sleeve, which is maybe my favourite part of this pattern.

Cashmerette Montrose Cotton

This Montrose Top from Cashmerette is going to be a Tried-n-True pattern in my wardrobe, I can feel it in my bones!

I bought this fabric as a remnant from Nerida Hansen in Australia. It sat in my stash for quite a while because it was a much thinner cotton than I had anticipated, and I also wasn’t sure if it was very ‘me’.

Turns out my fears were quite unfounded, because I wear this top all the time! Even though I sewed the high neckline without a keyhole opening at the back, I find it easy enough to get on and off, and since there’s so many colours on the shirt, it really goes with most of my wardrobe.

Size Details: I sewed the C/D cup bodice in a size 20, grading out to size 22 as the waist starts to curve out. I’m also using the Full Bicep sleeve, which is maybe my favourite part of this pattern.

Brown & blue Springfield Top

Cashmerette Springfield Cotton 1

Buying this Springfield Top pattern from Cashmerette was something I sat on for ages.

It seemed too simple to purchase. Not that I have any skills making my own patterns, but I suppose I just thought I should be able to make do.

Cashmerette Springfield Cotton

What eventually swayed me into purchasing the Springfield was that I had at least 6 or 7 pieces of fabric that were too small to be used on any of the other patterns that I already owned. I obviously needed this.

I had enough of this nice brown cotton to also add a self-lining to the inside yolk. This is great since I have such trouble telling front from back on my makes.

Sizing Details: I’ve sewed the C/D cup bodice in a Size 20 at the bust, grading out to a size 22 at the hips. I’m wearing the top here with a 47″ bust and 54″ hip.
