Pinkest Hexham Dress

This is my peak-summer dress and the pinkest Hexham Dress yet!

There are 2 views, 3 sleeve lengths and 2 neck options (3 if you could a mockneck as being separate from a turtleneck) included in the pattern. What I went with here is the crewneck option, the shortest sleeve and the View A, which has a full hem at the bottom.

This fabric is cotton knit with 7% spandex from Backstreet Bargains in NZ. It’s got 4-way stretch and the leftovers will make really great Kapunda Undies!

The final yardage is 2.3 metres, but I bought 3 metres so that’ll be a lot of undies or maybe even a Banksia Bralette and matching undies.

The Hexham Dress is designed to be a season-flexible dress. This would work great in a cosy dress for winter (especially with a turtleneck and long-sleeves), but makes a great summer dress (like this one here). There’s this full hem view and also a cocoon view with is extra modern looking.

The sleeve is fitted (with negative ease) and contrasts with the ease through the body. Perfect for using with a variety of 2-way and 4-way stretch knits, the Hexham will work great in merino, bamboo, and cotton jerseys. Personally, I love the comfort that comes with some extra spandex and great recovery so basically always look for things described as ‘4-way stretch’ when shopping online.

Clearly, I needed a Very Bright Pink version of the Hexham, and the other day I put this on while I was still wearing wide-leg pants and I was really into the silhouette, so you can expect to see that combo popping up on instagram in the future!
